LUP stands for LEGO User Partner.

The LUP program began in late 2006 and grew throughout 2007. Made up mostly of AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO) the LUP program maxed out around 60 people broken into 6 teams. Some stayed for a short time while others stayed for the duration. Generally LUPs were invited by the LEGO company to join the program and remained under NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) throughout the program.

By the mid 2010 a small number of LUPs remained in 4 teams. As volunteers LUPs contributed at different levels based on the time available and their interest in the tasks. Each of the 4 teams created small starter maps for zones that will hopefully grow after launch. Moonbase is one of those zones.

Our hope is that technical support from LEGO and NetDevil will increase and we will have more control over our maps with less intervention required by the “experts”. This is one reason for the limited nature of our initial maps.
