The Excavator Sled comes along after the Mining Rover has pulverized the rock and ore. Each outpost has between 2 and 5 depending on size and type of mine.
Used for loading the dump sled and repositioning rock and ore.
Operated by a single standing operator. The sled uses repulsors and thrusters for movement. The scoop extends and rotates to attack piles of ore from many angles.
The excavator sled is based off of the standard sled platform also used on the Dump Sled. The use of common technology in this way lowers maintenance costs through the use of common mechanical parts. Like most Moonbase equipment the excavator sled is powered by highly efficient Imaginatium crystals.
