OK, THIS is where I can submit this! When you save the .zip file, just change the extension back to .lxf to put it into LDD. ;-)

The original Blue Shadow is a prototype multipurpose freighter that is armed to the teeth with experimental technologies. With twin Class 0.15 hyperdrives, it's by far the fastest ship in the Galaxy or even the Universe. It's also equipped with several modular weapons systems that can be customized to the pilot's wishes. As if that weren't enough, the turbines on the front and the twin hyperdrive nacelle systems mean it needs neither repulsorlifts nor sublight engines for travel, making the ship nearly untraceable (and of course, the stealth coating on the hull doesn't hurt either), and as yet another added bonus, they allow the ship to operate underwater as well.

The Aoianei-class starfighter takes these powerful features and puts them into a mass-producible starfighter. Though they only have twin Class 0.4 hyperdrives, they have four additional torpedo launchers that, like all the other weapons systems, are completely customizable. The starfighter is also equipped with a small cloaking device, to augment the stealth coating.

Unlike the original, brick-built model, the starfighter seen in the main photo and .lxf file are built to minifig scale. While most Aoianei-class starfighters were built for the Phoenix Command Group, a number were sold to the Lunar Mining Corps on Moonbase Alpha for defense against the Piratron...

EDIT: BTW, all translucent parts EXCEPT the windshield should glow.

It's amazing! There is a good chance that this will be in game! I really like the model, and the story is thought out. However, wouldn't glow annoy the users?

Well, it's mainly to make the fighter more visible against the dark sky. Also, when the model glows under a blacklight, it looks SO awesome!

Hm. To be honest, I'm split on this one. The general idea is good, but the colors are all over the place and don't make me think of Classic Space when I see it. Also, the plates in front of the two engines in the front look a bit awkward. It's a good start though.

(BTW, next time, save as .png - .jpg causes loss of picture quality Wink )

The plates are magnetic field emitters that attract any dust and debris that would otherwise enter the engines. Razz Actually, they are holdovers from the original model; I used them to hold on the Rhotuka Spinners I used as propellers. I actually like them; they are an unusual feature you don't often see on ships.

Also, the choice of a diverse color scheme is deliberate; it matches the brick-built model, and it adds a feeling of depth and reality to the model. I'm sure it would be easy to paint the whole thing all one color, but then it would not be as interesting to look at.

I'll try saving as .bmp--.png tends to mess up colors. Also, the quality loss on .jpg should be minimal--I'm taking screenshots with a 1680x1050 resolution, so... (Also, I use Adobe Photoshop's .jpg codec when I can--it's really good at preserving image quality while still keeping the filesize small.) Wink

Looks pretty cool. But the glow would bother people.
